September 15th, 2008 by admin

If you have a computer did you know that you can talk for free to all your friends through your computers with some amazing deals from Skype. Simply sign up for an account with Skype and your away. You can type messages too like you can in MSN. It really comes into its own when you are trying to keep in contact with someone in another country. On top of that if you have webcam you can make video calls, how cool is that.

There are loads of other really cheap deals using Skype, such as unlimited packages for calling landlines in the UK, Europe or Worldwide at prices that won’t bust your pocket. You can also have your own online number which friends, family or businesses can call you on and they only pay local rates as long as they are in the same country as you.

All in all if you like to chat or just keep in touch and don’t want it to cost the earth, take a good look at some Skype deals!!!

Reserve and Collect Deals from PC World, Argos, Halfords, Comet and Currys

September 12th, 2008 by admin

Reserve and Collect deals are appearing at many popular high street stores like Halfords, PC World, Comet, Curry’s, Argos etc. These ‘Reserve & Collect’ deals are a really good way to save money because all you have to do is visit their website, choose the item/s you’re interested in and reserve it there and then. You don’t have to pay at the time of reservation which is quite nice if you’re not completely sure about purchasing but if you do decide to buy all you do is pop along to the store, the item will be waiting for you and you’ll probably pick up the item at an online discount price!

So, go and grab a deal now, there are thousands of products all discounted if you simply “Reserve Online & Collect in Store” Talk about saving madness!!!

Below are just some of the stores that offer this option at the moment, although they do have restrictions on some products and stores.

Books on a Budget

September 8th, 2008 by admin

If, like me, you like nothing better than to sit down with a good book, then you may find this site useful - Read it - Swap it.

It has a library of 198325 books available, with new ones added daily and allows you to pick a book you would like and hopefully swap it with another member, all you will pay is the postage.

You can do your bit for the planet too, recycling your books.

How to avoid those expensive 0870 Numbers

September 5th, 2008 by admin

Do you dread making calls to numbers beginning with 0870 as you just know it is going to take ages, you will probably be put on hold and you can just feel those minutes ticking away.

Well I have found a website, saynoto0870.com that will help you to find an ordinary geographical number to call.

Simply enter in the company name or the telephone number that you have and the website will hopefully come up with an equivalent number that should be much cheaper for you to call. It doesn’t always work but is worthwhile doing to save you sweating about how much a call is costing you whilst you listen to nonsense music for what can seem ages.

Family Tree Websites

August 18th, 2008 by admin

For all those of us who are trying to trace our family tree and understand what a painstaking pursuit it can be. Although it is also a very rewarding one.

Help is at hand from various websites, one of which is www.ancestry.co.uk which is a wealth of information. They offer a free 14 day trial and then various subscription levels, however, if you can get yourself down to your local library then you can browse the website for free and your library probably has loads of other useful resources on hand as well.

Getting a good deal even when sold out

This is a tip for shoppers at Tesco, a little known trick, which I can thank my Mum for is.. If you find an offer on a product but that product is out of stock, I know it happens all the time, then you can ask at customer services for an “Offers Promise” which means that when the product comes back in stock you should be able to purchase it at the price that it is on offer at now. I tried it the other day and it worked.
